On institutional racism in the UK Home Office

I wrote a short article on my other blog, a repost of an Open Rights Group newsletter. Please look at it, it’s really quite short but I am quite shocked at just how far the government plans to go, editorial prior restraint, ministerial decrees on acceptable content, encryption breaking surveillance, and more. The bill now includes provisions to censor online content that portray small boat crossings in a ‘positive light’.

I also posted the words of a motion and speech at Labour London Regional Conference on Refugees and Asylum calling for an immigration policy based on compassion and dignity, the words Starmer used in his 10 pledges. I made a mistake in titling the motion as I am clear in my mind that the Tories racist policies are not only aimed at Refugees, who in so many ways are easier to support, or you’d think so, but also against workers and family unifications.
